Writing notes
- Watch the video below. As you are watching, make notes with key words that you can use for writing a poem - anything that inspires you.
- Write three phrases about the sea.
- Be wild and imaginative with your phrases avoiding the obvious. (Yawn!)
- In groups, share your 3 phrases.
- Group work: As a group, decide on the best lines from each person.
- Combine the phrases to make one poem about the sea.
- Decide on a suitable title.
- Share and publish your poems.

What we know about the sea The sea is cold because he hasn’t got a coat on, But he's going up and down, which is a sign he's still breathing. People keep feeding him rubbish but even he can’t manage it all. If you smack him he will splash you back. He has a small cousin who is a pond. The sea will wave to you when you turn to leave. |
